The Climate School is a group of people that want to help develop other
peoples and our own understandings of climate change, its causes impacts
and solutions to it. We start from the point that climate change is
happening and we want to challenge the underlying causes of it. We run
events that aim to spread information about climate change and allow
people interested in fighting it to get to know each other.
Our events include film nights, reading groups, workshops, pub nights
and climate cafes. We run regular open workshops in Copenhagen at our
two regular events: the Climate Cafe (Folkets- regular day pending) and
early on at Climate Clubbing (Stengade 30 last Thursday of the month).
We are also available to come to your workplace, school, and climate
group etc. to do workshops with you. Our workshops are participatory-
that is we use group processes and games to share and develop knowledge
with each other. We have four/ five workshops that we regularly do but
we can also develop other workshops to meet specific needs beyond these.
The four workshops we regularly run are:
1. Introduction workshop (covering the basics of Climate change,
Climate Justice and COP 15.)
2. A Climate Change workshop (engage with its effects, the underlying
causes and the role of elites)
3. A Climate Justice workshop (exploring who is affected and who is
responsible for climate change)
4. COP 15 (tracing it historically, look at what it does, how it does
it and why we are protesting it in December)
5. Strategy for action workshop (looking at what other people are
doing, what we could do and how to be effective in making change)
Our workshops and events are free of charge, but we happily accept
donations to be able to continue our work! Our bank account details are :
